In the article, written January 16, 2019, the author
writes about a series of incidents occurring in a South Florida assisted-living
facility resulting in a $16,500 fine. There are a number of heartbreaking
incidents that clearly show worker negligence and inhumanity.
The disturbing incidents at the New Era Community
Health Care facility were issued by the Agency for Health Care Administration

⁃

one is of a woman who died due to a seizure that the facility ignored.

dehydration because they walked 25 miles to get air conditioning and food. When
the workers noticed, they did not immediately notify police.

$16,500 fine isn’t going to be a wakeup call.

Ariel,
ReplyDeleteThis was a very thorough post identifying some pretty significant problems. The only one that confused me was number 4 about Tesla. I did not quite understand what exactly the problem was and who was responsible for it but I guess I can read the article myself, haha. I also included an article raising the problem of an increased 15$ minimum wage on my blog- mine focused on farmers if anyone is interested in reading it.
ReplyDeleteHey Ariel,
My friend once did a project on the negative effects of raising minimum wage, so I thought it was interesting to read how this impacts many people. Do you think there is an opportunity in relation to this issue? I also thought your KFC article title was kind of funny – “The Chicken Flew”. However, it is disgusting that health protocols weren’t being followed. You’re absolutely right, incidences like these make the fast food industry look bad.
