Customer Avatar

Customer Avatar:

My customer is a single, 20 year old vegan. She realized at 12 years old that you can’t love animals and support killing them or eat them, so she became a vegan due to her compassionate nature. She is an animal activist and follows PETA on her social networks. She will not buy anything made out of animal products, including clothes, shoes, and furniture. She enjoys nature. She eats a strict diet, and temptation of eating animal products doesn’t exist to her anymore because of how strongly she feels about being a vegan. She drives a hybrid car, with a bumper sticker saying “GO VEGAN” on the back, but she rides her bike anywhere she can. She is always open to new ways of reducing her carbon footprint, is adamant about recycling and prefers using reusable rather than plastic products. She even has a bamboo toothbrush and has completely stopped using plastic bags. She feels frustrated about being a vegan sometimes because dating is difficult. Whenever she is interested in someone, they don’t fit her lifestyle. She has used dating apps, but finding a partner is like finding a needle in a haystack.

I have a lot in common with my customer avatar because I am a vegan and can relate to many things. However, although I do feel strongly, I am not a vegan advocate, I’m not single (but date a vegan), I don’t drive a hybrid car (although I wish I did), and I haven’t reduced my carbon footprint as much as I wish to someday. I don’t think this is a coincidence because this is the ideal vision of a vegan lifestyle.

  1. Hi Ariel,

I enjoyed reading about your customer avatar! I think it is very important to be able to relate to your avatar, especially when you are trying to go through with an opportunity. I believe this allows someone to become a better entrepreneur. It also can help alot with advertising your opportunity because if customers see someone just like them, they will be more willing to get involved with your opportunity.

  2. Hello Ariel,

I enjoyed reading your avatar description. I see you have a distinct customer profile that you have for your business. Female, vegan and in her early 20s actively practices what she believes in which is the better treatment of animals. I like the avatar you created as well, it fits your description. I had fun doing this assignment and creating my ideal customer avatar, I hope you did too.

  3. Great job on your post. You did a good job describing your custom avatar and the story you made for her makes her the best customer to target for your product. I like that you chose certain characteristics that best fit what your product so now you have a better understanding of who are the kind of people that you target towards.

  4. Hey Ariel,

You really painted the picture for your prototypical customer. I definitely see someone like this using your app and benefitting from it. I think it is cool that you sprinkled in some of your own personal aspects into your avatar - I think that makes for a more cohesive and realistic picture when the entrepreneur can relate to the targeted customer.
