Halfway Reflection

Tenaciousness is a competency:
The main behavior I had to learn was being able to be more open-minded and think outside of the confinements of the school system I’ve known my whole life. This class is different than any I’ve ever taken, so I had to learn to adapt to being creative
Tenaciousness is also about attitude:
I felt like giving up in this course the first time I had to do an interview. I am an extrovert, but I like to respect people’s boundaries, so going up to random people to ask questions pertaining only to something beneficial to me was really difficult for me. I did, however, start to feel more comfortable going up to people and even being told “no.” Having a positive attitude going into the interviews helped immensely (more than anything else.) I did become more determined to get the answers I’m seeking mainly because I am interested in the opportunity I have.
Three tips:
1.     Choose an opportunity you are truly interested in and can relate to personally.
2.     Set goals. Giving up is easier than working hard, but when you get things done it’ll help you get closer to your goal.
3.     Developing a tenacious mindset may not come naturally at first but the more work you put in, the more you will feel accomplished and WANT to do the assignments

  1. Hey Ariel,

Great post! I agree with your first point about this class requirement for you to adapt to being more creative. It certainly makes you think outside the box, which is a thing not many other classes do. I like how you overcame yourself and started getting more comfortable with interviewing people.

  2. Hi Ariel,

I enjoyed reading your post. I also agreed with you that this class requires you to be more creative. As I mentioned in my post, creativity doesn't come easy to me so this class really forced me to venture outside of my comfort zone. I also enjoy setting goals for myself because in life once you achieve those goals you get an amazing sense of satisfaction that will motivate you even more to succeed

I can totally relate to your reservations about being nervous about the interviews. Like you, I am very comfortable talking to people but have emotional sensitivity to others time and effort. I also loved the quote you included in your picture; this class has taught me that entrepreneurship requires hard work and tenacity. Your use of capitalization is also powerful in your posts.
