Choosing a
segment: I had a little confusing time choosing a segment because my demographic is quite
specific- young, single vegans.
For this segment, I again interviewed college students who were
single vegans. One female was studying business and the other female was
bio-med. The male I interviewed was 22 and wasn’t in school. All three of my
interviewees were single and had the unmet need of wanting to find a vegan
partner. They all also answered along the same lines said that their “when”
occurred during the time they felt passionate about being a vegan. One of the
females specified that she felt that there weren’t enough potential partners in
Gainesville even though she felt there were more at UF than in her home town.
There typically isn’t a “where” because wanting a relationship could occur
anywhere, so I didn’t get this answer. But I did find out that one of the
females did believe that a vegan dating app could bring so many people together
and could even encourage others to join the lifestyle.
The first girl I interviewed did mention that she tries to
google vegan advocates/ organizations so that she could connect to people that
have the same beliefs. The male said that he uses other dating sites hoping to
find someone that fits what he’s looking for.
I learned
a lot in the interviews, especially that targeting vegan advocate groups could
help me get to my target market. They were all aware of what they wanted,
enough to try to find a way to achieve finding a partner.
ReplyDeleteHey Ariel,
I think you can definitely learn a lot from interviewing single vegans as those are who you are targeting. Regardless, I believe this app will bring more awareness to the vegan diet as one of your interviewees mentioned. You mentioned the benefits in targeting vegan advocate groups and I think that is a great idea, you will surly find that perfect niche of people to ask questions and receive feedback from.
