Customer Avatar: My customer is a single, 20 year old vegan. She realized at 12 years old that you can’t love animals and support killing them or eat them, so she became a vegan due to her compassionate nature. She is an animal activist and follows PETA on her social networks. She will not buy anything made out of animal products, including clothes, shoes, and furniture. She enjoys nature. She eats a strict diet, and temptation of eating animal products doesn’t exist to her anymore because of how strongly she feels about being a vegan. She drives a hybrid car, with a bumper sticker saying “GO VEGAN” on the back, but she rides her bike anywhere she can. She is always open to new ways of reducing her carbon footprint, is adamant about recycling and prefers using reusable rather than plastic products. Halfway Reflection

Tenaciousness is a competency: The main behavior I had to learn was being able to be more open-minded and think outside of the confinements of the school system I’ve known my whole life. This class is different than any I’ve ever taken, so I had to learn to adapt to being creative Tenaciousness is also about attitude: I felt like giving up in this course the first time I had to do an interview. I am an extrovert, but I like to respect people’s boundaries, so going up to random people to ask questions pertaining only to something beneficial to me was really difficult for me. I did, however, start to feel more comfortable going up to people and even being told “no.” Having a positive attitude going into the interviews helped immensely (more than anything else.) Assignment 2A- Bug List Bug 1: The home I live in Gainesville is extremely temperature sensitive, so when it is cold outside, it’s freezing in my house, and when it is hot outside its scorching indoors, which causes it to use up the air conditioning and waste energy. Why does it exist? I believe the windows and the way the house is built lacks proper insulation. Bug 2: In the WholeFoods on Archer Road, it seems like every time I go inside to buy produce, they don’t have enough of what I need. Especially carrot bags, which I juice.
